With temperatures hovering around 30C, John took a leaf out of the Tour de France and chose a tough route to Four Elms. The core Tuesday group of four including Frank, Sandra Tom V and John D swept out of Purley Oaks and up through Warlingham where we were joined by Julia. Onwards through Titsey Hill and down towards Brasted via the Pilgrims Way.
We then took Chart Lane up to Toys Hill. Ok it wasn’t Alpe d’Huez but Toys Hill is quite a sweaty ride at the best of times and this was a scorching day. Once over the the top you have a very long sweeping ride down to Four Elms where Chartwell Barns Garden Centre provides tea and coffee without a lot of shade.
