Sunday Ride: 28th July 2019

Six of us started the day Jim M, Jim K, Ricky (not seen him all year), Peter R and Martin W.
First stop of the day was Tullys farm where the 2 Jim’s, Ricky & Peter turned for home. Martin and I carried onto Hove via Ditchling Beacon. Jim M had shown me a nice way of missing out Haywards heath. I got a bit held up in traffic on the Beacon missed out on a pub by 12 seconds.

Lunch was had at Fat Boys Slim’s cafe where they gave my burger to a young lad had to ask for another one but the food is top notch. It has a beer licence too so a good place to eat.

After lunch we set of for Devils Dyke, Bolney, Handscross and Turners Hill where Martin had enough of climbing and stopped for a pint. I carried on to Lingfield & Marsden Park to finish the day with 103 miles in 7 hours 22 minutes average speed 14mph.

I’ve now got two good routes in my head at last. – Mark H
