Sunday Ride: 28th February 2016

It’s not often that I go from Purley through Cudham en route to Chartwell but the timings of Sunday rides mean that we can be a bit more adventurous.

The 11 riders who turned up seemed up for it and it was good to see Ewa and Belinda out to add some glamour to our ride.

From Tatsfield we took the quiet road to Berrys Green and then up the very steep 20% climb of Berrys Hill to Cudham.

From there it’s a beautiful descent to the Pilgrims Way and Brasted before the long grind up the North side of Toys Hill where we regrouped outside the Fox & Hounds. The route took us down Toys Hill and along Puddledock before the final climb back up to Chartwell where Jeremy was sitting smugly waiting for us. I don’t think he took quite such a lovely route!

The pub stop was at the Royal Oak @Staffhurst Woods so it was fast downhill through Edenbridge and the flatish road to the woods before I headed home via what’s becoming the customary puncture.
