Sunday Ride: 1st December 2013

Only five of us sped away through Coulsdon, Banstead, Tattenham Corner and Ashtead to club favourite Annie’s in Leatherhead where we arrived on the dot of ten to be first through the door.

We all wanted to be back early and with no Jeremy to lure us into a drinking den we, despite our captain’s earlier promise, were instead lured to Box Hill. Annie’s creamed scones are one of the great undiscovered energy fixes and we sped up the climb. I was delighted to do it on the middle ring without distress. Back down Chipstead Valley and we were back in Purley before half twelve.
