Tuesday Ride: 26th July 2016
Twenty five or so riders turned mostly in club gear to welcome the Cycling Weekly team who will be featuring The Anerley in their regulat “Ride with …” feature.
In true ABC form we succeeded in not quite dividing ourselves into three well disciplined groups. We sort of stop started our way out through Warlingham until the leading group accidentally dropped their leader (John D) who then set off in fast pursuit. We followed only to pause at this prescient sign for BMW three wheelers.
Lullingstone Visitor Centre via Knockholt was the tea time venue where Meike & John had commandeered two large tables for what must be the biggest Tuesday turnout in living memory.
The plan was to return through Shoreham and along the Pilgrim Way. We dropped our leader again when he took the Dunton Green option while the rest of us took the shortcut across the M25. Thankfully he caught up again. A splendid warm summers day ride. About 37 miles.
We should feature in Cycling Weekly in around three weeks time. We will be featuring them featuring us.
