Tuesday Ride: 19th June 2018
A big ride to Tanhouse Farm with the ‘A’ ride awaiting the ‘B’ Ride. The reason? John D was to brief us on the Club’s June 30th Charity Ride in support of the iiCHILD Holiday Camp organised by his Church. However, the good Lord led him astray. Not many club members can get lost on the way to one of our most popular destinations.
One way is to rely on a SatNav rather than instinct. Not helpful if you put the wrong postcode into it.
Frantic phone calls place him on the wrong side of Capel. Eventually he found us. And it was worth the wait as his friend Elaine gave an inspiring talk on what the charity is doing to try and rescue Croydon’s estate kids from being sucked into gang culture.
Finally, while waiting, we opportunity to view this week’s bicycle of the week – all £13,500 worth of it:
TomTom put an extra twist into the route by taking a right on the exit in a satisfying loop down to Cophatch Corner and back to Leigh. 43 miles at 11.90 mph.
