Tuesday Ride: 22nd March 2016
“£20 if you can guess the destination, less a quid for every mile we do.”
No one won, ‘cos Tom did a back double to a place we had never been to before. Dunno why we hadn’t, as you can see above the cake – and this one only one groaning table of them – was way beyond tempting.
So was the day. Not too cool and wonderfully sunny. We gathered the Coulsdon Collective before whipping them through the Kingswood Estate & Kingswood to Leatherhead where we went a strange way through Fetcham to end up at Sunday’s Squire Garden Centre stop. But we didn’t. Onward and hanging a right to Oxshott rather than a left to play with Chelsea.
Thence a tour of sumptuous homes and gardens with obligatory Range Rover & Porsche.
The mileage was nearly up. Where oh where? A sign directed us towards Chessington World of Adventures. Could it be?
We stopped just short at a garden centre to devour the cake out in the sun. Rather wonderful in sharp contrast to the horrific stuff happening in Brussels that morning. Home was round the back of Epsom and backup to Tattenham Corner where we began to fragment to complete our individual journeys home. A really good ride Tom!
