Sunday Ride: 29th April 2018
6 went to the Milk Churn at Rudwick via the lovely Weare Street in Ockley. Mark Hancock lead half the gang back home while the brave trio headed towards Amberley, Arundel and Chichester.
There was severe pain experienced at the fearsome Horsebridge Hill near Fittleworth. But the bluebells and stnning gardens at Fittleworth was a decent reward.
Lunch at the tearoom in Amberley was a bit disappointing as they only did cakes and scones but you don’t complain at a place which used to be the village slaughterhouse! They even specified what to do in the loo – no number 2!
A bit of offroad took us through the Arun Gap without the 7 gates climbover ee dud last year. Gorm did make a passable impression of cyclocross riding befre falling over in the mud.
Bosham was as delightful as ever and the main tearoom shut at 3.45 despite proclaiming their openness until 4 to 5.
The total distance was 80 miles in the dot.
