Sunday Ride: 3rd July 2016

Mike H was the guest leader of the day and as a hill climb lover took us up Beddlescombe Lane. Not too bad despite the gravel & rock debris from the recent torrents. Then the belt down Clarkes Lane. George may have been too fast to spot a hole and suffered a fairy visit to both front and back. Barry was quick to backtrack and render assistance whilst Mark and myself looked on approvingly.

Thence onto Sevenoaks and Kelly Holmes’ Cafe 1809 at Hildenborough where we could relax.

Still in search of more hills Mark led us on past Bough Beech reservoir where the resident twitchers had turned their telescope on a dingy race in the distance.

Luckily Mark was unsure of the route to York Hill so we had to just do with Ide Hill. Jeremy had gone on ahead in time to set up a pint or two at the top. Almost worth the climb! About 48 miles.
