Sunday Ride: 3rd February 2013
(Not quite as it was on the day … )
Sunday was a day for the puncture. Frank suffered first whilst cycling up Portnalls Road (Coulsdon) then Stuart not to be out done had a double puncture at Trumpets Hill Copse. The ensuing battle with tubes and tyres result in a slight delay in getting to the tea stop at Henfold Lakes. The mugs of hot tea and bacon butties were certainly welcome.
The route home was via Horne via Charlwood. Bad news here for the Addiscombe. Their club hut (The Pine Shop) was having a clearance sale and is up for sale. Isn’t this one of our Tuesday’s favourite tea stops too?
A missed turning by the Captain resulted in a couple of miles being added to the original route, final mileage for the day was 50 (or 49.73 for the aficionados). For those who stopped at the Jolly Farmers – it was a mere 45.63 miles.
