Saturday Ride: 24th February 2018

The official ride was cancelled due to frosty cold conditions, but two of us later in the day managed a short off road stint in the sunshine. Once we had warmed up it was very nice too.

Our route took us up Old Lodge Lane then a cut through to Caterham Drive and up to the newly refurbished Fox pub. Off topic but for members who live nearby this is really worth a visit. It’s very nicely decorated inside with extended seating areas and well kept real ales. We’ve tried the new menu too and were very pleasantly surprised. This venue will now be added to the Saturday’s end of ride pub stop options.

Back to the route. From the Fox offroad behind the old barracks and up to the North Downs Way. Turning East on the North Downs way we meandered down and then up to The top of Marden Park for a gloriously sunny ride into a bitterly cold wind.
