Saturday Ride: 1st September 2018
So it was a glorious Autumn morning but only two of us rocked up on the day.
Ignoring Pete’s carefully planned route, Karen and Roger headed off up Portnalls Road and on to Nutfield. Entering Lonesome Lane we were met with numerous warnings of road closure including no through route for cyclists which we duly ignored.
SES were indeed digging up the road for water main repairs and had set up various hurdles at intervals to deter reckless riders. No barrier to the intrepid duo. Things went a bit pear shaped as we headed towards Charlwood and we ended up at Tanhouse Farm.
Swift return via Box Hill. 54 miles all told at an average 14 mph
