2015Rides

Tuesday Ride: 19th May 2015

John Dadson lead the Tuesday riders along the Pilgrim’s Way to Sevenoaks in Kent. The original destination was the National Trust house of Knowle Park but they are refurbishing so we went to the coffee shop in the undercroft at St Nicholas Church.

Here we were promised all sorts of delights such as tea and coffee and cake as well as jacket potatoes which put a glint in Bob’s eyes. After paying for it Bob was disappointed to be told that he couldn’t have one as they weren’t ready and the disappointment turned into downright depression as several jacket potatoes sailed past us to other (more Godly I presume) customers!

The ride home took us over Goathurst Common and Ide Hill where we stopped to take in the view across to Bough Beech.  Bob does not appear in the photo – I presume because of the jacket potato scandal but the rest of us had a pretty decent ride. Indeed some people enjoyed the views so much that they stopped to take unauthorised photos…
