Sunday Ride: 26th May 2013

The Bank holiday weekend brought the sunshine out, a bit of heat and a light breeze. Tom and Julia were first at the meeting point and soon to be joined by Jim then Carmen. Off they headed to Brockett’s Farm via Chipstead Valley and little Switzerland. Enroute, they first picked up Des and then Andy B (great to see him back). It was very pleasant riding through the countryside with the sun on your face whilst chatting to friends. The “gang” dismounted at the tea stop and decided due to the lovely weather to have their tea and scones al fresco. More sun and more chat ensued, but alas it was time to move on.

There were no takers for the ride to the lunch stop, so homeward bound we went, back over Box Hill, joining the masses of bikes at the top. Can it get any more popular? As we headed off the summit, Tom and Julia couldn’t resist stopping for a “99” from the ice cream man. Its official summer is here (well, for a day anyway).
