Saturday Ride: 24th August 2019

This ride followed a favourite route out to Polesden Lacey. Roger, Jim K, Pete and Asif  met at Shurguard with Ian joining us at Coulsdon PO.
We headed out via Chipstead valley and Kingswood (no sign of clipboard man) and then round Epsom downs and onto Leatherhead. Polesden Lacey was at its best with glorious sunshine and despite it being a bank holiday weekend the cafe service was quick.

After tea it was a pleasant and long run down to Westhumble before a long hot climb up Boxhill.

I’ve seen a few strange things in life but seeing two people SKIING UP Boxhill in Summer has got to be right up there!

The route back followed the usual, Walton on the Hill, Kingswood, Chipstead Valley to The Smugglers Inn Coulsdon. Most header straight home but Roger and Pete sensibly re-hydrated with a Guinness
