Tuesday Ride: 20th June 2017
A dozen of us turned up for the early ride – but the heat was already full-on for what was to become the hottest day of the year so far: 30+/80+.
We took the easy way out via Marden Park only to be interrupted at the top of Church Lane in Godstone by this little load landed on the fly and completely blocking the road. It still retained the shape of the skip from which it must have come. Nasty!
Otherwise uneventful pleasant cruise to Horne Golf Club and, for some, a heart elevenies:
The later group – or ‘groupette’ turned up to entertain John & Meike. Back home, not quite as uneventful as Tom shed a chain under the the Nutfield underpass. Once we found the right chainbreaker all was quickly fixed and back home as the heat of the day ramped up a further notch: 32.50 miles at a creditable 13.88 mph.
