Saturday April 16th: A Saturday Ride?
An Anerley ride on a Saturday? – surely not !
A combination of family duties, holidays and an aversion to cold weather has led a couple of Anerley members to break with tradition and get some miles in on a Saturday.
Pete and Graham, ventured towards Tully’s Farm on 16th April and the week before that to Domestique at Great Bookham. We accidentally found a new way from Leatherhead to Bookham which avoided the long, traffic heavy climb passed Brockett’s farm. Take the road to Bookham from the centre of Leatherhead. It’s a bit steeper but shorter and much quieter.
Some of you may recall Pete’s friend Roger’s first experience with the Anerley involved taking his brand new and shiny Specialised up a knee deep mud path. His next trip out involved a new short cut to Tanhouse farm from Charlwood. It’s called Dukes Road and looks ideal on Google maps. It might look like a road but it’s mountain bike territory only!
