Time Triallists go fast head down and are highly competitive for a few miles.
The opposite is to go slow, soak in the countryside (and ale), go far and feel a similar sense of achievement. Two of us informally did our first Imperial Ton of the season a few weeks ago into Kent as a slingshot off the Saturday Ride.
This Sunday may be another opportunity to slingshot off the scheduled ride to Tea Pot Island, Yalding. Tim will lead back but Mark is off towards Ashford. Anybody want to join me and follow him?
The modus operandi is to ride until the 50 miles clock up and stop at the next pub and turn. This time probably coming back the easy flat way via Hildenborough and Four Elms.
We shouldn't need lights but it doesn't do any harm to pack 'em. Full armour is optional ;-)
