CTC Cheam and Morden Hilly 50K

An invitation from Graham Hill of CTC Cheam & Morden

As a change from your usual weekend rides, why not try our event; the start is Ryka’s car park (RH5 6BY; TQ171520) 10a.m. Saturday 10th March 2012.

Vertiginous ascents and precipitous descents – none of which makes sense but people do it every year. Defy reason and take part in the ride known as ‘The Most Ridiculous of all the Classics’. Elite riders finish in a tad under two hours; tourists can take three and a half hours or more. For anyone unfamiliar with the North Downs (!), there are six hills – one of which rates a single chevron, and another garners two. See those folk walking….. And you only have to ride up Box Hill once! The literati amongst you will know two hills appear in “100 Greatest Cycling Climbs”.

For further information use links on the C&M page of our website www.cyclingswlondon.org.uk. There’s a route sheet, GPS files for those with toys, and a StreetView map for those content to ride the course from the comfort of their armchair or with a limited sense of direction!

Payment (£3) is on the day but you can save £1 by pre-registering either using the website or emailing ctc.cheammorden@virgin.net. Free e-certificate for all those daft enough to want one.
