QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"Whoever invented the bicycle deserves the thanks of humanity" - Lord Charles Beresford
BICYCLIST OF THE WEEK
Fireman Bob Bray for organising the Anerley swimming team who represented us at the Purley Swimathon on Feb 23rd. The team swam 117 lengths raising over £500 in charity sponsorship so far. A wonderful effort and there is still a little time to make a donation:
Well done the fantastic Anerley team who have done us proud.
BIKE OF THE WEEK AND JOINT BICYCLIST OF THE WEEK
Mark Hancock's outing to the velodrome introduced plenty of members to the art of cycling in circles (ovals actually). A lovely day at the Herne Hill veldrome and a special mention to Fran Steadman for her excellent power and control on her first day riding a fixed wheel.
Special thanks to Peter Trimming for coming out to take a most excellent collection of photographs featuring people grimacing with effort.
