QUOTE  OF THE WEEK

"A person pedalling a bike uses energy more efficiently than a gazelle or an eagle. And a triangle-framed bicycles can easily carry ten times its own weight – a capacity no automobile, airplane or bridge can match.” – Bill Strickland

BICYCLIST  OF THE WEEK

John Eden - one of our many '49ers, man about Lincolnshire, winner of the most improved cyclist and even a Brooks saddle in the last raffle - John is busy researching the history of the club. One fruit this week is the first Anerley Quiz - see below.

BICYCLE TRAILER OF THE WEEK

This is the Rolls Royce of Thule's Chariot range of child carriers. With a lightweight aluminium alloy frame, it'll take up to 34kg of kid and kit.

At heart, the CX 1 is a stroller on steroids, and comes with the bike attachment it's shown with above. It can be converted into a three-wheeled jogging stroller, a round-town four-wheeler and even a ski trailer.

Yours for only £764.99. There's also a two-child version, the CX 2 for £1,099.99, and there's a vast range of accessories.

FINALLY

I have a nutty friend who seems to spend half his life cycling around South America. I didn't get it - until I watched this video - Cycling Up The Highest Road In The World. And having climbed a 12,000 ft mountain last year - this guy my ultimate respect. He was almost as breathless as me going up Toys Hill last week!

Thanks to TomTom for finding it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdQ0uBlNUbk

Happy Cycling!
