Coming back from injury I have been leading a few ABC gravel rides. OK, so it may be muddy and slippy in places, and often it is a hillier route than the road route, but usually we have much less traffic to deal with. Our routes do tend to be a bit shorter as it is slower going off road.
Only 7 different riders have joined me so far on these rides; if you are thinking it might be for you, then do come and try it out! There are often bail out options, and I may shorten the route if necessary. Riders use a mixture of gravel or mountain bikes, or a road bike with slightly larger tyres (JP is an expert at negotiating the mud with this set up!). Electric assist is not frowned on either.
