QUOTE  OF THE WEEK

“Horsham has the advantage of making Crawley look attractive" - overheard on last Sunday's Ride

BICYCLISTS  OF THE WEEK

Two for the price of one this week. Sally & Denise who have made this slot individually before because of their part in outstanding tours.

This time they got together to organise a ladies tour of Belgium [see below] with Sally as 'Day Manager' plotting and leading the routes and Denise as 'Night Manager' arranging accommodation and other logistics. Perhaps the combo could do something for the blokes too soon?

BICYCLE  OF THE WEEK

Pictured on last week's Tuesday Ride to Tanhouse Farm this neat little number could cost you £13,500. There are dumbed down versions for around eight grand for the mean minded. It will buy the lust or otherwise of every other rider. Read more here: https://www.cervelo.com/en/triathlon/p-series/p5

THE LADIES 'EXCUSE ME'

The Dover Docks' departure gium fo six Club Ladies (well one was honorary) on a mini-tour of Belgium earlier this month. Destination was the Menin Gate in Ypres. Over 160m and an eventful but fun time: https://anerleybc.org/mini-tour-to-belgium-june-2018/

THE CLUB CHARITY RIDE - 30th JUNE

The poster nearly says it all. Some of us are marshalling, We hope many of you can don Anerley Colours and join in helping some goople (but maybe not so good cyclists) through what may be a bit of a challenge for them on a round trip to 'The Old Jail' at Biggin Hill for a picnic (and beer).

The club officers are making donations in lieu of sponsorship. You may wish to do the same on the day. Or to get less experienced riders to do 25 miles. Click on the poster for a high resolution version you can print and distribute here: https://anerleybc.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Charity-Bike-Ride.pdf

Bicycle Polo - have your tried - me neither!

I thought I saw something on BBC News about doing it on vintage bikes at Herne Hill last week - but I can't find it. Can somebody help? Meanwhile here is a video as a placeholder. Enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76ZhpWW_v8s
