FUTURE RIDES

Tom has provided a new runs list for April - June 2017 and has included a monthly extended ride for the Spring & Summer months. You can find it here: https://anerleybc.org/runs-list-april-to-june-2017/

The first of these is a ride on Easter Sunday, April 16th to Bosham Harbour starting from Purley at 8.00am. This is a total of 65 miles with a further 5 miles to Chichester Train station for the return. There are a few tickets at £5 from Chichester to East Croydon. This means we should get to Bosham for around 4.00pm (or possibly earlier).

Tom has booked his return  ticket from Chichester for 18.15 leaving  enough time to wander around the beautiful Bosham Harbour (above) and have a beer before heading home ... or visit the church whose large Saxon Arch was featured in the Bayeux Tapestry (below) and where King Canute's daughter is buried. Bosham is reputedly where King Canute failed to stop the rising tide. Which may also stop us if Tom has misread the tide tables ;-)

Following extended rides are:
14th May Brighton & Back 100 miles
11th June Kent 100 miles

FINALLY

This week's Westminster appalling tragedy was caused by a weaponised 4x4. Nonetheless one member of the House of Lords blamed the cycle lane. Oh it was also just 30 metres where Transport Minister 'doored' a cyclist.

Victim blaming? http://www.bikebiz.com/index.php/news/read/peer-blames-cycle-lane-on-westminster-bridge-for-terrorist-attack/020958

Keep Calm & Keep Cycling!
