QUOTE  OF THE WEEK

"Once you’ve tracked the passage of the season firsthand through the breeze and chill, experiencing the arrival of spring is all the more gratifying” – Peter Walker

BICYCLIST  OF THE WEEK

I haven't listened to Radio 1 since the 1980s but I take my hat of to DJ Greg James for attempting the "Gregathlon" which would have seen the DJ climb three of the highest mountains in the UK and cycle the epic distances in between them over five days.

He was forced to cancel after climbing Scafell Pike and Snowdon and cycling 200 miles in the snow but could not get to Ben Nevis. A brave effort... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-43248311

BICYCLE OF THE WEEK

The argument between steel and carbon bikes is suspended for now. We should probably put de-icer on the essential kit list for winter rides.

FINALLY

Stuart disagreed but too late...

Although the email system worked in the past, an administration change meant that it was no longer possible for me to send out a simple email to everyone.

So, I have set up a WhatsApp group and subscribed anyone in our rides list with a mobile phone. If you want to hear the latest information about rides being on or off or other sensible information:

  • HELP!! I am lost.
  • My front tyre just exploded can someone lead the ride or wait 20 minutes.
  • I followed Frank and am now lost/on the M25.

Anyone wanting to discuss Brexit or off topics will be kicked out!

My apologies Gorm, I experienced one of the above but thanks for coming out on a particularly cold 9 am ride.

Anyone wanting to be subscribed to Whatsapp, please send me an email: mark.t.vaz@gmail.com
