2016Rides

Sunday Ride: 26th June 2016

20160626_113346(0)After the “will he? won’t he?” debate (and I don’t mean the falling out of Boris and Michael) I decided to ride on my dodgy ankle. The chosen route to test the wretched thing was a 60 mile trip via Ashtead to Painshill Park and then the Anchor at Pyrford and back through West Clandon & Leatherhead.

A magnificent 16 riders (yes a record in my memory) riders took to the flat route and we welcomed new ladies Mary and Sally. The route out was the usual meandering, quiet kind of ride. Frank took a whole gaggle home with him down the busy roads of Leatherhead but the rest of us took the backwater road through Ockham, Ripley and stopped at the wonderful location of the Anchor.

Here a pint and a mouthful of decent food was enjoyed while admiring the swans and the canal boat with its onboard garden.20160626_125734
